Assistant Principal, Elementary Instructional Specialist (APEIS)

About Me

Hello Wonderful MLK Jr. Family! It is my pleasure to work with you as your Assistant Principal Elementary Instruction Specialist this year! My job is to support all students, staff, and families including students with disabilities. I have been with LAUSD for 20 years as an ESL teacher, a Special Education teacher, a general education teacher, a Primary Promise Intervention Teacher, and this year is my first year as an administrator. I have a Master’s degree in TESOL and I’m a National Board Certified teacher. I look forward to working with you all and supporting the school in meeting special education compliance obligations.

• I enjoy walking my dog with my husband at the park or at the beach.
• I enjoy seeing the beauty of nature (red rocks, dessert, mountains, creeks)
• I love tasting new foods.

My Goals for the Year

1. Ensure IEPs are held within the legal timelines.

2. Ensure students with IEPs are provided with appropriated instruction and services.

3. Support staff with effective instruction to meet the needs of students with disabilities.

4. Support intervention in classroom before referral for Special Education evaluation.
